Pi Tau Sigma

International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society

California Sigma Eta Chapter

Pi Tau Sigma is an academic honor society for mechanical engineering majors and professionals. The object of our organization is to encourage and recognize superior scholarship, to foster the high ideals of the engineering profession, to stimulate interest in coordinate departmental activities, to promote the mutual professional welfare of our members, and to develop in mechanical engineering students the attributes necessary for effective leadership and civic responsibilities.

The California Sigma Eta Chapter was originally chartered at California State University, Long Beach, on May 13, 1966, but went inactive in May 2002.  During the Fall 2009 semester a petition was circulated to reestablish Pi Tau Sigma at The Beach and on March 24, 2010, the founding meeting was held.  Through membership in PTS, we seek to better our community, our future careers, and ourselves.

Pi Tau Sigma has a new discussion board set up as a forum to communicate with the Chapter about anything and everything.  Of particular interest to the campus and engineering community is our outreach forum which covers our tutoring center.  You don't have to be a Pi Tau to join.  Check it out!
