Welcome to AESB!

Welcome to the Associated Engineering Student Body, home to the many student organizations within the College of Engineering at California State University, Long Beach. The AESB represents all of the students in the College to the University and on behalf of the University, awards grant money to the student organizations to further their academic and community work, and seeks to further the professional pursuits of the students in the College. Involvement on campus and in student organizations has been proven time and again to improve retention and overall success among students both in school and in their professional careers; consequently, every student ought to try to be an active member of a student organization that pertains to one's interests or field of study.

Engineering Day

Written by AESB Webmaster Monday, 04 February 2008
The major event for this semester will be Engineering Day or 'E-Day' to be held on April 26, 2008. This is a chance to showcase all of the work that our students and faculty have produced, and to introduce the College of Engineering to the rest of the University, and to the local community. Plan to come out and see what we are all about, and to show off what you are about!

Engineering involves creating everything that is around us, from construction of buildings and bridges, to design and implementation of computers, to making cars and rockets. The community will be able to get a firsthand look at the processes of making the world run. Children are able to do a chemical experiment by making slime, learn about the different fields, and tinker with students' projects.

Engineering Day (or 'E-Day') is meant to spread knowledge to our community, to our students, and to our university about the College of Engineering and the many disciplines that fall within it. We demonstrate the various fields through experimentation (hands-on-projects), hand-outs, pictures, and displays of our projects. (Note that this event is separate from the College of Engineering Open House being held in March.)
