American Society of Civil Engineers – California State University, Long Beach, has been a main source of networking for professionals and students. Our student chapter is continually informing and connecting graduates and students with full time positions and internships in the Civil Engineering field. The chapter is currently working on the projects for the annual Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWRC) on April 3rd to the 5th. Two major projects we are focusing on are the Concrete Canoe and the Steel Bridge Competitions. Concrete Canoe TeamThe CSULB Concrete Canoe Team helps students to actively design, analyze, construct, race a concrete canoe and promote team-building skills. This year’s team is using innovative construction techniques which will utilize a fiber glassed reverse male mold and the latest aggregates to create a lighter and stronger concrete formula. Steel Bridge TeamThe Bridge Team designs, analyzes, fabricates and constructs a 20 foot model bridge. Bridge designs incorporate factors such as making a bridge that is financially economical, structurally efficient with the quickest construction time. Organization InfoEmail:
