This Friday, October 16, 2009, a couple of representatives of Walt Disney Imagineering will be giving a presentation on the annual ImagiNations Competition, a student competition that challenges student groups of all disciplines to concept and design their best ideas for Disney-style attractions, hotels, restaurants, park lands, or even whole theme parks. The competition is open to undergrads with junior or senior standing, full-time grad students, and recent graduates (within 1 year) but anyone is welcome to attend the meeting. Also, because Walt Disney Imagineering requires such a widely diverse pool of talent, the competition is open to all majors. More details about the competition can be found online at http://disney.go.com/disneycareers/imaginations/. In addition to discussing the competition, Tony Baxter, a Long Beach alum and designer of such attractions as Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain, will be discussing his career as an Imagineer. I have also been asked to talk about my experiences as an applicant to the competition and as a graphic design intern. The meeting will be held this Friday, October 16th, at 5pm in FA4-307. Whether you're interested in the competition, in hearing what it's like to work for Walt Disney Imagineering, or you just have nothing else better to do on a Friday night, everyone is welcome to attend. Attached is a flyer with the event details. |
