As the academic school year comes to a close, it is time for us to look back at all that we have accomplished as the College of Engineering. As we all look back on the past year and look forward to the next, we invite you to partake in an evening of food and festivities in the company of industry friends, students and faculty. "The Innovation" will be held May 8, 2009 from 6-10pm in the Soroptimist House on campus. Candidates will visit this Monday, May 11, 2009 and next Monday, May 18, 2009. There will be a presentation and open forum from 11:15-12:45, most likely in ECS-304. Students may attend this portion of the visit.

Graduation

In particular, the senior class may purchase benches or tables for the VEC Quad that will be dedicated in your honor. Also, there is a graduation cap decorating contest for a cash prize - student leaders will be present on Commencement day to select the most innovative and unique graduation cap - you are Engineers - go all out! ICC

The first Inter-Collegiate Council Meeting, "Social Engineering: Online Collaboration" was held last Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 6:30 in ECS-105. It was a good event, drawing 40 engaged students from across campus to share experiences about professional communication, working with other leaders, and building up and sustaining organizations. The night included a visit to the SAE lab, where the Mini-Baja and Formula SAE cars are built and tuned, which demonstrated the caliber work that is done in Engineering at CSULB, and the amount of financial support that our programs require. The workshop on the Google Docs suite of online tools, including Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets & Forms, and Calendar received great praise and was the highlight of the night for many. All in all, it was a success and we hope to see future ICC events in the year to come.
